ISSUE 5 - FEBRUARY 2008
At last our boat
is now moored on the pontoon at Las Galletas Marina, no more wading
in knee
deep water over rocks to reach the boat, just step straight from the
pontoon onto the boat. Water and electricity have now been connected
so we can rinse away the salt water and the walk to the Marina Bar is
just two hundred metres.
We
have also spent over €25,000 replacing our compressor with the
only triple filtration system on Tenerife and all new cylinders which
came into service in December.
2007
has been a record year for us with more new and repeat customers than
ever before. A big thanks to all of you who have dived with us. We´ve
also trained 24 new Instructors this year and wish them every success
in their new careers. Some of them are now as far afield as the Phillipines
and New Zealand!
Many
of you who know us will be glad to know that Ami, who has done a lot
of the training in the past 2 years is now a PADI Master Instructor,
so well done to him.
We
also ran our first Red Sea Liveaboard in August 2007 which was
a fantastic success. So much so, we have actually booked Grand Sea Serpent
for two consecutive weeks in August and September 2008 with the September
trip fully booked. it´s probably because 19 of the 24 people on
the 2007 trip rebooked!
Our
Red Sea Liveaboard trip for September 2008 is fully
booked to Daedalus,Rocky and Zagarbad and we have only
8
places available for the Simply the Best trip to the Brothers,
Elphinstone, and Daedalus departing 27th August. In August
2007 we had Mantas, Thresher Sharks, Hammerheads and more Reef Sharks
than you could throw a stick at! Also the quality of the reefs are as
good as anything I´ve seen worldwide.

Easyjet
are now flying direct to Tenerife South, they offer 20kg hold luggage
per person, and I believe unlimited weight on hand luggage so long as
it fits in the designated size bin.

How are
your skills at deploying a SMB, surface market buoy - a must for anyone
boat or drift
diving.
The new PADI SMB speciality teaches how to deploy the SMB from the bottom
or platform and to deploy from midwater. The course is only 2 dives
(1 day) and it counts towards the Master Scuba Diver rating.
